Korean Maltese Grooming
Tips/Video's/Products We Use & Recommend on Grooming Your Korean Maltese
Let me Start by Saying the Korean Maltese do not stain like the American Maltese.
I plan on doing some tutorial videos in the future. My Korean Maltese are extremely easy to care for on a daily basis and will share with you easy ways to keep them nice and white, to look like the stuffed doggies people think they are! They do not look real is what everyone that see's them tell me!
I use the products my Korean Breeder recommends, plus a few of my own favorites.
Cleaning Little Faces & Eyes
I use the tearless, Blue Berry face wash and dilute in a foamer dispenser about 1/4 product to 3/4 water, and cotton rounds. I use the the eye wash by Bausch & Lomb eye wash first, and apply to each little eye. Them I apply the foam mix in the dispenser to the cotton round and rub into the hair and area around the eye, to loosen any debris or eye crust. I kinda massage once damp and take my face comb to comb right out. I do not need to do this daily but I do use the face comb daily on all my dogs. I use this same method on the Yorkie eyes as well, to keep eyes and face clean.
Foam Dispenser and the way foam look, and the disposable cotton round face cleaners, you can pick up at almost any store or order from amazon

New Korean Style Faces
Below are labeled photos of how I received my Korean Maltese. I have pretty much gotten the Korean Grooming down to and ART & I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT & AM ADDICTED!
You do NOT clip as much of the face as was being done a few years back and its much cuter. On the Korean Puppies/Adults you also pull some of the eye and nose hair to grow long up into the top knot, so does not stain and much cuter than the original top knots. I do the Yorkie Top Knots the same way now.
On puppies you have to make the top knot low and closer to the eyes to get the short hair up in the band, but as it grows you can go higher up on the head with the top knot. I do 2 ponytails for everyday on my Maltese and Yorkies, one closer to the eyes.
Then for fru-fru days I pull all the hair up into one.
Please take note below of the the lines and where you STOP to make the BOW TIE KOREAN FACE. DO NOT cut too deep or it ruins the look of the face. In most all the Older youtubes which is below, while great grooming tips, too much of the face and body are being cut.
So make note of pictures below, and keep in mind with watching grooming tips on video.
DO NOT GO PAST THE EDGE OF EYE FOR BOW TIE OR TOO DEEP AND CUTS TO MUCH HAIR. I STAY SLIGHTLY BETWEEN MID EYE AND EDGE OF EYE.
